The CEMView-SPC for Continuous Emission Monitoring (CEM) applications strikes a balance between economy and reliability.

The highly integrated motherboard with an Intel Pentium D Dual-Core processor delivers high reliability with superior performance. The extremely powerful graphics engine video controller, LAN controller and RAID controllers are all integrated onto the motherboard, effectively reducing or eliminating the number of add-on boards and components. CEMView-SPC embraces the latest LGA 775 CPU and PCI Express technology.

Using Western Digital RAID Edition Serial ATA II drives, the RAID 5 data storage array offers the best combination of superior reliability, high fault tolerance, and optimum performance for enterprise applications. Designed and manufactured to enterprise server-class standards, these RAID Edition hard drives are the world’s most reliable server-class SATA drives in the market with 1.2 million hours MTBF, 100 percent duty cycle and best-in-class vibration tolerance. The RAID Edition SATA II drives are mounted in anti-vibration disk drive bays with hard drive coolers. A vibration isolated cooler hard drive will be more stable and less likely to suffer a mechanical failure. Keeping the drives well below its specified temperature range is the easiest way of ensuring that the drives will perform optimally. For harsh or high vibration environments, the Windows XP embedded operating system on Compact Flash media is an optional enhancement to further significantly increase overall system reliability. Extended duty SATA 2½” notebook hard drives featuring 24/7 operation and high shock tolerance are also optionally available.

Memory heat-spreaders are used to dissipate heat, improving its performance and avoiding system crashes caused by overheated RAM. The V.92 controller based hardware chipset modem ensures trouble-free remote access connections. Data archiving to CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW optical media is secure and easy. The high speed USB 2.0 and IEEE 1394a interfaces ensure that alternative back-up peripheral or add-on hardware such as tape drives are easily connected to the system. A 13-in-1 internal high speed flash memory card reader facilitates the transfer of data files and reports to flash based media. A UPS is included to ensure the orderly shutdown of applications to avoid data loss or database corruption in the event of a power loss condition.

Third party applications Diskeeper, pcAnywhere, Acronis True Image, Nero 7 Essentials suite and a CA EZ Anti-Virus and Pest Patrol one year subscription are included to defragment, optimize and enhance the system to ensure on-going serviceability, data backup and protection.
